Yesterday I went to see Third World Love performing at JahPan. These guys rock my world! The amount of energy in the club was enough to light up the whole town. On the base, the incredible Omer Avital , yeaaaaa! On the trumpet: Avishay Cohen - yeaaaaa! And the things he can DO with his trumpet, are unbelievable, and he’s beyond doubt the best Jazz performer I have ever seen. How he moves and how he jives and how he dances and drums and sings and all the girls in the crowd are weak with excitement looking at his trumpet with their eyes glimmering and their knees shaking, and he can be mellow and he can be gay and he can be teasing and he can be deaaaad serious and he can be ecstatic and erratic and everything he does is pure virtuosic ‘cause the guy is a genius. He is the trumpet genius. And there’s Yonatan Avishay - the pianist, who sits modestly behind his piano and creates the most wonderful melodies you’ve ever heard and sings his Avanim song and melts your heart. On the drums: Daniel Friedman - yeaaaa! who makes your legs move on their own will and your butt shake and he sings And he raps yo motherfucker he came from NewYorkCity motherfucka and how he raps!
And than there’s magic! And there’s no other word to describe what these guys do. It’s sheer magic. And you forget all about your troubles and your strife and you feel elated by this great force and beauty and you feel the art in your bones and you feel a better person, and you promise yourself to improve from now on and never get angry or frustrated about little stuff that don’t matter ‘cause you feel this great llllllove, this third world lllove. And you are happy.
Check out their web site. They are touring in Europe now, don’t miss them!
Thank you for the wonderful comments on the show- I'm happy that we make you happy
