“Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ‘till its gone”. Joni Mitchell/Big Yellow Taxi
Previously on The Bubble: Our heroine, Hadas, less then three weeks before immigrating to Canada from Israel, feels overwhelmed by guilt feelings caused by her mother’s incessant crying, her father in-law’s sadness, and her son’s happiness in his nursery and homeland, and wishes to interfere with fate; she wants to call the whole thing off. One day, while walking on Sheynkin street She meets a family friend. It’s a woman she had known and admired for many years. The woman, who together with her family lived both in the States and in Israel, tells her: “Children are blossoming in Israel”. On the evening of the same day she sees a “Silent Party” taking place on the Boulevard next to her home. She is so moved by the sight of the people jumping and dancing ridiculously with their headphones on, that she bursts into tears and asks her husband to cancel the move. He refuses to hear about it. She realizes that what is done cannot be undone.
