Photo Friday’s challenge last week was “Best of 2006”. Choosing one photo is indeed a challenge. I chose this photo of Daniel taken during our summer escapade to Cape Breton. A reminder of days filled with beauty and freedom, where I felt the fierce power of nature taking hold of me, even in my sleep (I dreamed the most vivid dreams. Uri too. Every morning we shared them, puzzled), and where I felt the peace of mind I rarely feel:
Quiet.
Over here, surrounded by people, overwhelmed by feeling, I long for that quiet, even for a tiny moment; for that clarity of spirit and mind.
I think, Hadas, you've become more Canadian than you know - that's what we offer, peace and shelter from the madding crowd. It may not be enough, but I hope you stay long enough to make it an enduring option. Cape Breton, by the way, is there anytime you want it.
Yao Yao's missing her prince.
love, Janet

Thanks, Janet. Over here I discover, surprisingly enough, that I'm more Israeli than I know. You have no idea how wonderful it is, being home. Or maybe you have (after all - you have Cape Breton).
